WHO AM I—NO SYSTEM IS SAFE
A German nobody becomes an internet somebody because of his hacking skills in this fast-paced techno-thriller from Baran bo Odar, director of 2010's acclaimed THE SILENCE. Tom Schilling is Benjamin, a nerd with no friends who finds himself sucked into a vertex of illegal and then possibly lethal activities when he becomes part of an aggressive cyber collective that aspires to world (or at least virtual-world) domination. Set to the striking beats of German electronica wunderkind Boys Noize, this is a visually arresting, exciting, twist-filled ride that also involves a mysterious rival hacker, Europol and even the Russian cyber mafia. Odar explores how acts on the virtual info-highway can have potentially catastrophic real-world consequences.
""""A slick and stylish German cyber-thriller...with Baron bo Odar suggesting that hacking is simply like magic—people see what they want to. This them fits the climax of the film as a series of twists within twists...keeps things intriguing up until the final scene"""". Mark Adams, Screen Daily
Running Time: 102 Minutes. Not Rated.
