I don't mind a simple plot if there's something to hold my interest...superb acting, cinematography, a heartfelt story, etc. Horribly miscast and really not good at all. Sorry to be so harsh Andy, but you can't win them all!

I liked it well enough, I suppose, but I'm not looking forward to seeing it again, or sharing it with friends.
A little too much willful suspension of reality for me. Would the spoiled daughter really have adjusted to so well, and would she really have been interesting in the kebab shop guy? I think not.
The scene in the van between the two brothers made the whole movie for me. The discomfort was palpable. That was believable.

After seeing the fabulous movies we all share I found this one to be a total bore. The casting seemed improbable with some of the Greek family looking Greek and others looking like they were direct from the British Isles. The father seemed too insipid for us to believe he had been a big time CEO. And the storyline to me was ridiculous.
I love the Cinema Society but I'm not sure why this was selected for us.

A nice lite charming moving with a pleasant and endearing “life message”.
A good first time effort for the first time director. Sad though that this won’t be seen and enjoyed by a larger audience.

I sensed many in the audience didn't enjoy it as much as I did. I loved seeing the scenery behind the actors, wondered about how they got the production done, and how the casting was accomplished. It was quite a mix. Hey, this wasn't a big budget film with Zorba available. It was sweet, predictable, and entertaining. Some characters over the top at times. I was pleased with this film. Some need to lighten up a bit and get in to the story. Thanks, Andy

Year getting off to a terribly slow start.
Who cast last night's film? The lead character was as Greek as bagels and lox.
The chemistry was lacking among the family.
If we were to feel emotion it was boredom and anger for having to sit through this painful experience.
The 1 is for the music.

Trite, painfully predictable. Stereotypical characters.
Music was great.

I’m giving them all 5’s this year. One reason P AND SONS gets a 5 is because of the woman sitting next to me. My neighbor laughed at every funny line and her laughter was contagious. That really made it fun. Also, despite the hackneyed theme, P AND SONS was a well-crafted film with many fine scenes. Some scenes I liked were: the young man and woman smoking while getting to know each other and any scene with James in it. I also thought Dillane was terrific.
