So glad you asked us to stay for the credits. Just seeing all of the parts the different actors played was well worth it. Yes--definitely a contender for best Make-Up and Costume design. Loved each and every story and the universal messages they all delivered.

Although this was billed as an "art" film, it had none of the lyrical meanderings of the much more difficult to absorb "Tree of Life." Each section moved at an appropriate pace, which built to a crescendo at the conclusion. The pre-viewing instructions (to me, and nothing personal here ANDY!) always seem a bit condescending. We are film aficianados and the post-recap as a group seems to be more meaningful. This was not difficult to figure out. It was well cut, definitive in "deeper" meanings, beautiful and fun to watch. Amazing that some 90 minute pieces seem way longer than this epic. Of course, it won't be for everyone, but it definitely was terrific for me. The Book Catapult guys really enhanced the evening as well. What a great movie month we are having...

I really enjoyed this movie and did not feel that it dragged at all. At times, I would have liked subtitles! I was left feeling that I want to see it again, that I would recommend it to my friends, and that I want to read the book. I enjoyed the guest speakers as well.

I thought the performances were all very good, and I enjoyed seeing if I could figure out who played what character in each story line. I agree with RichG that this will become a cult favorite. Imagine the discussions, the term papers, and the blog posts on the minutiae of this movie! There was certainly a lot of "meat." I think I could see this movie again and again and get something different out of it every time.

This film required more than an open mind, it required a patient one, though the movie was long it had a good pace and didn’t seem to drag and the only reason I knew it was long was my backside was going numb and my contacts were starting to dry out from staying up waaay past my bed time but it was all worth it. This film stayed with me all the way home as I was still trying to put all the pieces together and it has even inspired me to think about reading the book. It is easy to describe this movie to someone as Waterworld/Mad Max-meets-Amistad-meets-BladeRunner/TotalRecall/Tron/Matirx-meets-Pelican Brief/Conspiracy Theory-meets Bright Star-meets-Snatch/Guy Rithie-esque movies-meets-British Cocoon, but of course it’s way more than that because of it’s unique film making that was necessary for this challenging story. I don’t know that this style has changed moving making (at least not in the way Avatar did) but it speaks volumes to imagination and integrity. Though this isn’t a “everyone” (it requires instructions for viewing for crying out loud!) but it does fare well much more than last year’s “Tree of Life” and this year’s “The Master”. I think I actually want to see "Cloud Atlas" again (but maybe after I read the book).

This film was not for me. Kept looking at my watch. Would have walked out if I had a ride home.

I'm a sucker for happy endings and this film had a bunch of them. I thought the concept was clever and had no trouble hip hopping from story to story. I really liked this film.

Destined to be a cult favorite, this film held my interest from beginning to end. The six stories were well pieced together as the characters endured similar experiences though in different time periods. The special effects and make-up are sure to secure Academy Award nominations. Not sure I could sit through it again, but this time was quite satisfying.

Thank you Andy for bringing this movie to us. I know that it was not everyone's cup of tea and some will give it a one but I think it was very well done on many levels. The book is worth reading and the movie did a much better job with it than I would have thought possible. I won't say that the book was my favorite but I can say it made more of an impression on me than almost any other. Likewise, I will add this movie to my collection when it comes out and watch it several more times over the coming years. I also appreciated the selection of the bloggers as speakers. Good work!

Although at the gen ing of the film was a statement that as ore viewers, that we are not allowed to comment on the movie on any public forum. So much for that. I loved the movie! Well acted, well directed, well cast.i was on the edge of my seat even though I knew the outcome. The was some artistic license with the story, but it all worked.
