MAN ON A LEDGE
An ex-cop and now wanted fugitive (Sam Worthington) stands on the ledge of a high-rise building while a hard-living New York Police Department negotiator (Elizabeth Banks) tries to talk him down. The longer they are on the ledge, the more she realizes that he might have an ulterior objective.
Starring Sam Worthington, Elizabeth Banks, Jamie Bell, Anthony Mackie, Ed Burns, Titus Welliver, Genesis Rodriguez, Kyra Sedgwick and Ed Harris, MAN ON THE LEDGE is directed by Asger Leth. A Summit Entertainment Release, it opens commercially in San Diego on January 27th.
Rated PG-13 for violence and brief strong language
Running Time: 102 Minutes
PLEASE NOTE: This event takes place on a Wednesday!

Fun! A nice respite and light entertainment with a great, if underutilized, cast, vs. our usual more "serious" undertakings. Glad you included it.

Probably wouldn't have gone to see this otherwise but I found it an entertaining thriller. Torn between liking and not liking the bad good guys. Andy, you went out on the ledge on this one. You can't please all of us but I liked it so much more than Hobbs.

I joined the Cinema Society to avoid this type of movie. Car chases, unbelievable stupid plot, weak and corny acting.

It wasn't Oscar worthy, but it was fun! I liked it way better than Tower Heist and that one from last season (maybe), the Next Three Days. Lots of willful suspension of reality, for sure, but it kept my interest.

About all I would tell someone is the “advice” Andy gave us, suspend all belief and just have fun because with that information one can have a good “popcorn” time. That’s “commercial” films for ya….P.S. I did figure out early on in the film that the “hotel bellman/waiter” was the Dad :o)

There won't be any red carpet walks next year for this one, but it was definitely fun to watch! I think I've developed a fear of heights. Although the script was not particularly original, there were a few twists -- such as the role of the father. I did think the "scary" music was a little much and made some of the characters/scenes seem like caricatures.

Andy, my dear departed dad would say you hit a trifecta this week! Three movies that couldn't be more different, yet each a winner in its own way. Was touched by the story and amazed by the performances in "Come as You Are" -- thought for a while that at least two of the characters, Philip and Jozef, were played by actors who were actually handicapped. Loved Claude. That's a 5. "Albert Nobbs" was so quirky, giving a glimpse into a time and culture so different from our own, yet with ideas that still resonate. Again, breathtaking performances -- especially by Glenn Close and Janet McTeer. A thought provoking 4. And tonight, just plain fun! Thanks, Andy, for an amazing week!

A fun ride. Never a dull moment. Probably will make lots of $ on the DVD release Found myself wondering why jewel heists are always so complicated? But who cares? Sometimes a movie is just a no brainer. Thank goodness!

An interesting week Andy has provided us. One Masterpiece. One "snoozer." and now this knock off of knock offs. There was not one shred of originality in this meaningless piece of drivel. It was like a Milton Berle joke. Everything was lifted from six or seven other made for TV movies. And for this I gave up the opening night of America Idol?

A mediocre ripoff of the Negotiator. From start to finish, the plot was utterly preposterous, exceeding my normally generous ability to suspend disbelief. On the positive side, I thought that Elizabeth Banks and Sam Worthington turned in competent, even if forgettable, performances.
