LOUDER THAN A BOMB

Louder Than a Bomb features four Chicago high school poetry teams as they prepare for and compete in the world's largest youth poetry slam. By turns hopeful and heartbreaking, the film captures their tempestuous lives, exploring the ways writing shapes their world, and vice versa. Louder Than a Bomb is about language as a joyful release, irrepressibly talented teenagers obsessed with making words dance, and the communities they create along the way.

While the topics they tackle are often deeply personal, what they put into their poems, and what they get out of them, is universal: the defining work of finding one's voice.

Just watched LTAB recorded from the OWN.

Just as moving as the first time.

I'm looking forward to purchasing the DVD so I can see again and again.

What a winner and what a start to the season. Very uplifting and inspirational, this film should be seen by every student in every school…and just when one thought the night couldn’t get any better and then Lamar comes along…WOW…what a nice surprise and what a talent. I expect to hear great things about this film.

The movie was a piece of poetry in and of itself. By the time I got to the end o the film and we heard the "live" performance, the tears were streaming down my face. It's time for me to find a poetry slam right hear in San Diego!

Thank you Andy. What an inspirational film. LTAB should be part of every high school program. Hopefully word will spread. Having one of the "stars" of the film and Jon Siskel at the showing was the icing on the cake. I rate the movie itself a 4 (it was a bit too long) but I rate the evening itself a 10.

The short was an added bonus. Well done and very original.

It's a documentary, strike one. It's about poetry, strike two. LOUDER THAN A BOMB did not strike out, however, because of the skills of Mr. Siskel and Mr. Jacobs in capturing the essence of the world of poetry slams. You don't have to love a film to admire it.
