An explosive, adrenaline pumping thrill-ride from start to finish, MAX MANUS is the winner of seven Norwegian Amanda Awards, including Best Picture.

PLEASE NOTE: MAX MANUS is in Norwegian with English Subtitles

For a number of reasons, one of which is my interest in World War II history, this was so far my best film of the season. The characters seemed so real and reinforced when you see the extent to which they selected look alike actors to the real characters. This was more than a wonderful tribute to Max Manus, his friends, and his fellow combatants. The recreation of the events, the cinematography, the sound and music make this a film that would stand up against the best of stories about people in World War II. It created not only the immediate enjoyment of film but an interest in learning more. With a noted historian speaking at the end, it was a totally rewarding experience to see this fim.

Max manus offered really terrific movie making and acting. The fact that it is based on a true story, one that we weren't aware of and was SO fascinating, was a bonus!

Andy, this was a winner! Thanks for bringing it to us. One of the best we've seen this year.

Lots to like in MAX MANUS. Superficially, MAX was a fast-paced action film about the good guys beating up on the bad guys. But MAX offered so much more: good acting for an action film, wonderful cinematography (I especially liked the blue-tinged cold scenes), sound that added so much detail to the saboteurs’ operations, and music that heightened the tension and set the mood (as in Billie Holiday’s “In My Solitude”).
