Life seems perfect for John Brennan until his wife, Lara, is arrested for a gruesome murder she says she didn’t commit. Three years into her sentence, John is struggling to hold his family together, raising their son and teaching at college while he pursues every means available to prove her innocence.

With the rejection of their final appeal, Lara comes suicidal and John decides there is only one possible, bearable solution: to break his wife out of prison. Refusing to be deterred by impossible odds or his own inexperience, John devises an elaborate escape plot and plunges into a dangerous and unfamiliar world, ultimately risking everything for the woman he loves.

Staring Russell Crowe, Elizabeth Banks, Brian Dennehy, Olivia Wilde and Liam Neeson, and directed by Paul Haggis (CRASH) from a screenplay by Paul Haggis, , THE NEXT THREE DAYS, released by Lionsgate, opens commercially in San Diego on November 19th.

Running Time: 122 Minutes

Rated PG-13 for violence, drug material, language, some sexuality and thematic elements.

A whole lotta Russell Crowe, but ok by me. Well done for a fluffy, mindless, unpredictable action flick.

Sheer action escapism, a good addition to the season's mix to date. I kept envisioning Bruce Willis in the lead role, although Crowe did a credible job. Good attention to detail, with subtle touches. Kudos for not drowning out the dialogue with overly loud score.

One of the best CS movie so far this year. Enjoyable and entertaining, even though the genre is a little tired. Some roles were underwritten and the plot stretched the imagination a bit too much in places, but the acting, editing and cinematography were all top notch.

Good 'old-fashioned' Action movie. The car scene had me (and everyone else in the theatre, if the gasps were to be believed) holding my breath. Didn't really know until the end, if they were going to successfully make their escape. Like most Action flicks, holes can be found, but enjoyed the entertainment. Thought a 3-plus, but the title, the NEXT 3 days, changes that to a 4 (I like subtle things too).

A strong 3. Not the most believable ( she is supposed to have killed someone and there is only blood on the back of her coat..and she is found guilty for life on that flimsy evidence?) .. but once you accept that ~ and know that RC is going to get her out... it was a very entertaining movie... what I really liked is that the police were shown to be smart. The scene where Elizabeth Banks opens the car door was amazingly shot. Little twists kept it interesting. Liam N and Brian D roles? Phoned in.... Love the map on the wall catch at the end. Love that Brian D pulled down an old atlas vs. internet ... lots of little touches ... enjoyed it. Thanks Andy..

After SHAWSHANK, prison break films probably should not be attempted. However, I was entertained and I'm glad Andy gives us such variety in films.

I wasn't sure what was scarier, the film or all the DIY/How-to's that the film indicated that the average person could find on the internet to break into a car, home or elevator.

This was entertaining, a little plodding at times and though one could sit and pick it apart for inaccuracies or implausibility's, my big ? was how did Russell Crowe's character get all that money he stole from the drug dealer through the airport security. I would have thought that that amount of money would have raised some alarms.

Move over, Alfred Hitchcock, director Paul Haggis

is in town. Fun, exciting, not too believable, but come on guys, it's the movies, it's fantasy.

Kept us all awake!! Exciting.

9-Nov-10: Philippe - Rating: 5

Loved it. When the action starts we are kept breathless and wondering if they are going to make it.

Did anybody at the studio read the script before they poured money down a rat hole? Did you hear people laughing during the "serious" parts? Russell Crowe was in it for the paycheck. He looked lost and uncomfortable. The "emotion" expressed by Elizabeth Banks was, to say the least, inappropriate. What was Brian Dennehey's role supposed to be? The cops were from Keystone. PULEEZE......this was beneath the high standards of our Cinema Society. No More Paul Haggis movies!!!!!!
