In celebration of Marsha Hunt's 99th Birthday...

MARSHA HUNT'S SWEET ADVERSITY

In May, 1935, while visiting her uncle in Los Angeles, 17 year old model and aspiring actress Marsha Hunt was """"discovered"""" in Hollywood. She signed with Paramount and went on to a flourishing career at MGM. She made 54 films in 17 years before a series of unfortunate events led to her being unfairly blacklisted. After the blacklist, she championed humanitarian causes, forging a new career as one of Hollywood's first celebrity activists. At age 98, Marsha is still fighting for causes she believes in.

The Cinema Society is honored to be saluting actress Marsha Hunt on this, her 99th Birthday. If she feels up to it, Ms. Hunt is eager to be joining us from Los Angeles for this special event.

Running Time: 101 Minutes. Not Rated.

PLEASE NOTE: This event takes place on a Monday.

ALSO PLEASE NOTE: The program takes place at Sherwood Auditorium, inside the Museum of Contemporary Art, San Diego, 700 Prospect Street in the Village of La Jolla.

FINALLY NOTE THIS: The First show begins at 4:30pm
