AN EVENING OF AWARD WINNING SHORT FILMS

Film Lineup Selected from the Following (in alphabetical order):

A GIRL NAMED ELASTIKA (Canada, 4 min): A spirited rubber-band girl journeys across her corkboard universe in this delightful stop-motion film.

BROKEN CLOUDS (Canada, 6 min): Father and son make a trip to the carwash a memorable adventure in this poignant snapshot of an intimate family moment.

GREAT (Germany, 22 min): A young Serbian projectionist in 1942 decides to teach the occupying Germans a lesson.

MISS TODD (UK, 15 min): At the 1910 Aviation Meet, Miss E. Lillian Todd - history's first female aeronautical engineer - makes last minute checks before her plane takes to the skies.

ORBIT EVER AFTER (UK, 20 min): When you live in orbit, aboard a ramshackle space hovel, it isn't easy to follow your heart - especially when the girl of your dreams is spinning around Earth the wrong way!

SIDE EFFECTED (USA, 7 min): A congenital liar engages in a verbal sparring match with his boss over a promising new drug with possible untenable side effects.

SLOMO (USA, 1 6 min): A successful neurologist decides to radically re-direct his life's journey by moving to the beach and becoming a rollerblading legend.

VIRTUOSO VIRTUAL (Germany, 7 min): Gorgeously handcrafted abstract animation dances across the screen accompanied by the overture to Louis Spohr's opera, The Alchemist.
