Welcome to the 2009-20010 Season...our twenty-sixth season of cinema.
Your season membership packet (season pass & guidelines) will be available on opening night, Tuesday, September 8th, in the upstairs balcony above the AMC La Jolla 12 Theater. If you wish someone other than yourself to pick up your packet, please alert the cinema society office at 619 /280-1600 extension 6.
If you will not be attending our season opener, we will hold onto your packet, and bring it to remaining September programs. If you haven’t picked your packet by the final program in September, we will mail your season packet to you.
As we begin our new season, you’ll be exposed to a wide variety of offerings. Keep in mind my golden rule – I don’t make them, I just show them – and get ready for a wonderful cinematic journey.

Welcome to the CINEMA SOCIETY
Preview the best in Cinema...
San Diegans love discovering great motion pictures. The CINEMA SOCIETY OF SAN DIEGO is your ticket to discovering carefully selected motion pictures offered by the top major and independent studios before they are released to the public, along with celebrity salutes involving classics.
Our evenings include guest speakers who are local experts in the subject matter of the film, critics and occasionally actors, directors or studio representatives involved with the film’s production. Our speakers share their expertise with you, providing a forum to discuss various aspects of the evening's movie.
A typical CINEMA SOCIETY program includes a cinema chat, formal introduction, screening of a feature film premiere, classic, documentary and/or short subject followed by a discussion. For an additional fee, members are entitled to partake in numerous film oriented travel opportunities, hosted by Travel Planners, the official travel agency of the CINEMA SOCIETY, as well as other cultural events.
Your membership in the CINEMA SOCIETY includes...
- Private screening of feature film premieres, classics and shorts on monthly basis from fall through spring.
- Transferable membership admission card (pass it on to others if unable to attend an event)
